STORY BEHIND THE NAME
WHY ALDERWOOD LEGAL?
WOODWORKING
During a hiatus from the practice of law, Christine Furrer became a self-taught woodworker, starting with small projects for her friends and family and continuing with a custom building business, focusing on tables, desks, doors, and more.
WOOD SPECIES
Alder is a hardwood that has moderate weight and density which is preferred for finishing because of its uniform, small pore structure and color consistency.
This species maintains its integrity over the years, is easy to work with, and fits well with a plethora of design styles. In addition, Red Alder is the most common hardwood tree growing in the Pacific Northwest, the birthplace of this Portland based law firm.
This species is not only Christine's favorite, but its characteristics align perfectly with Alderwood Legal's mission, vision, and values.
THE LAW
Alderwood Legal's experienced attorneys provide support for special education (IEPs and 504 Plans), divorce and family law, guardianships, special needs trusts and estate planning matters.
